Colic - When to call your doctor

Colic starts at about 2 to 4 weeks of age and persists until 3 months and rarely up to 6 months. While it may be related to an immature gastrointestinal tract, the baby’s growth is not effected.

There is no relationship between a colicky baby and growing into a discontented child. Many such babies develop sunny and happy dispositions.

Just take a deep breath. Give yourself some free time away from a crying baby. Don’t stress out and within a few short months you will once again have a happy and delightful baby that you can enjoy.
