Medifast for diabetes
Medifast understands that diabetics have special dietary needs, and the new Medifast Plus for Diabetics will help you meet those needs and lose weight quickly and safely. While helping you control blood sugar, Medifast Plus for Diabetics can help Type II diabetics lose unwanted pounds. We recommend that Type I diabetics use Medifast products as an occasional meal replacement only, unless otherwise prescribed by a physician.
About the Plan
The Medifast Plus for Diabetics program consists of five Medifast supplements suitable for diabetics and an evening meal, which consists of a lean meat dish, a green vegetable, and a salad. We recommend that you drink six 8-oz glasses of water while on the Plan in addition to the water that you take in with your Medifast supplements. This Plan may not be used as a complete plan and you must consult with your physician before starting the program.
Clinically Proven
Medifast has been clinically proven in studies conducted by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. In the study conducted by Dr. Cheskin and Dr. Crowell at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, males lost an average of 67.41 pounds and females lost an average of 47.5 pounds over a sixteen-week period.
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is currently studying the efficacy of Medifast Plus for Diabetics. The objective is to compare Medifast Plus for Diabetics to basic nutrition recommendations provided by the ADA. After the first year, preliminary results of the study show that volunteers using Medifast Plus for Diabetics lost twice as much weight with an average weight loss of 16 pounds. They were also twice as likely to stay with the diet.
